Keystone State Dance Festival

The Keystone State Dance Festival is a two-day dance intensive held the third weekend in July on a regional college campus. The event features master classes in ballet, tap and jazz dance as well as diverse studies in modern and ethnic dance taught by professionals from Broadway, New York City, Miami Florida and across Pennsylvania.

Founded by Jim Harris in 1993, the workshop allows experienced dancers ages twelve and up to study from professionals still active in the field. Dancers from all across Northeastern Pennsylvania annually take advantage of the twelve hours of classes, which are held in both classroom and theater settings. This event, unique to our region, affords students from all dance schools the opportunity to study from world-renowned professionals without the major expense of traveling to New York City or dance conventions. The limited class size and superb facilities guarantee a dance experience to last a lifetime.

Past instructors have included, Charles Goddertz/New York City, Keri Lee/New York City, Deborah Wilson/New York City, Joe Melchiona/Miami Florida, Emily Huber/Philadelphia, Dr. Kenton Harris/Miami Florida, Lane Napper/Los Angeles California, Rhapsody James/New York City, Heidi Melchiona/Miami Florida and Jose Delacruz/New York City.
