The Pennsylvania Choreographers Showcase is truly unique to Northeastern Pennsylvania. The production gives professional and emerging choreographers from across the region a venue to exhibit some of the latest work. An eclectic mix of dance, the performance features pieces from a wide variety of disciplines including modern, jazz, interpretive and ethnic forms of dance. The production, which was conceived by Jim Harris, is held the third weekend of July at a theater in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The purpose of the showcase is to create both an event and an audience that encourages experimentation and growth in this ever-developing performing art. There is no fee to participate in the performance and dancers are given free rehearsal time and publicity preceding the production. All dance schools and companies are invited to submit works for consideration to the Keystone State Dance Festival.
