The Joan Harris Centre is active in every major artistic organization in the region. We feel it is important for the various performing arts groups to share their talents, assets and knowledge to ensure that we are giving the public the very best productions possible. For that reason we have developed relationships with a host of other organizations so that we may benefit from each other’s experiences.
Under this principle, the Joan Harris Centre has created or assisted in the formation of several different organizations and events that bring together dance and theatrical companies from around the area.
- Northeastern Pennsylvania Theatrical Alliance - An organization of nearly thirty theatrical groups, collegiate drama departments and regional newspapers whose primary purpose is to promote to the general public the wide range of talented theatrical groups active in the region.
- Keystone State Dance Festival - An event featuring master classes in ballet, tap and jazz dance as well as diverse studies in modern and ethnic dance taught by professionals from Broadway, New York City, Miami Florida and all across Pennsylvania.
- Pennsylvania Choreographers Showcase - A production showcasing an eclectic mix of dance, the performance features pieces from a wide variety of disciplines including modern, jazz, interpretive and ethnic forms of dance.
