Staff Bios



HEATHER BEDNARSKI -
Instructor

Miss Heather has been studying Ballet, Tap, and Jazz at the Joan Harris Centre for the past 19 years. In addition, she has studied at both major and local conventions in Pennsylvania, including the Dance Educators of America conventions in Philadelphia and at the Keystone State Dance Festival. Miss Heather has appeared in numerous stage and theatrical productions, including the studio’s full length ballets and recitals, choreography showcases, and community theatre productions. Recently, Miss Heather has appeared as “Margarita” in the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre’s production of West Side Story. Along with Miss Megan Brady, Miss Heather directed the set, “Alice in Topsy-Turvy Land” for the studio’s 2007 Halloween Show. Miss Heather recently had the role of Swanhilda’s best friend, Irmegarde in the studio’s production of Coppelia this past spring. In 2001, she traveled to New York City where she appeared in the prestigious Performance Outlet, sponsored by the Broadway Dance Center. Miss Heather was a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers’ dance team, “The Pony Express”, where she performed at all of the home games during the 2002 inaugural season. A 2002 Wyoming Valley West High School graduate, Miss Heather was involved in many dramatic and musical productions, as well as numerous talent shows and concerts. She was a Spanish tutor for local elementary schools during her junior and senior years. Miss Heather is a 2004 graduate of Luzerne County Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Education. Miss Heather graduated Cum Laude from Misericordia University and is currently a substitute teacher in the Wyoming Valley West and Hanover Area School Districts.
