KATIE MANAHAN - Instructor
Katie began dancing at the age of 5 at the Butler Academy of Irish Dance and continued to study traditional Irish dance for 8 years. Katie began studying tap and jazz at the Joan Harris Center and then began to study ballet and has performed numerous stage and theatrical productions, including the studio’s full-length ballets and recitals. Miss Manahan is a 2007 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School where she participated in several school musicals including Footloose, Anything Goes, and Beauty and the Beast. During this time, Katie was part of the volleyball team, Seasonal Singers, and the marching band where she was co-captain sophomore year and Drum Major junior year. As a member of the Student Council and Honor Society, she participated in many community service programs including teaching CCD to Spanish speaking children at Holy Rosary Church in Wilkes-Barre and acting as a counselor at the Luzerne County MH/MR summer camp for children with special needs. Katie is currently a student at King’s College where she has received scholarships and grants based on academic achievements. Miss Manahan is pursuing a degree in Biology and Secondary Education.
