Mark Petrucelli is a drama instructor and director for “Backstage Pass”, a children’s theatre workshop located at the Harris Conservatory for the Arts. He is a graduate of King’s College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and a Associate Degree in Human Resources Management. He comes from a large wonderful family that lives up to their slogan, “My family tree is full of nuts.” Mr. Petrucelli has appeared onstage in over a dozen plays, ranging from Shakespearean to contemporary. Last year he played the lead role in Arsenic and Old Lace at The Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre and this past spring portrayed the role of Nick Bottom in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream . This was not his first foray into the classical works of “The Bard” having appeared in The Taming of the Shrew and A Comedy of Errors. Mark performed in many productions for the Joan Harris Centre, most notably as princes for ballets, Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, Steve from Blue’s Clues, Willy Wonka, A Night Before Christmas , DJ Gnarley Charlie and this past year in Scrooge, Jazzed Up Like the Dickens and Don Quixote where he danced the role of Espada. Mr. Petrucelli has a special interest in the technique of improvisation, and was fortunate enough to meet several members of the television show “Whose Line is it Anyway?”. He wrote the original children’s play entitled Wallace’s Watch Tower and last year directed the musical Aladdin JR for the Harris Conservatory. He has been hired to co-direct the musical Into the Woods JR for Kirby Kidz which will be staged this August at the F. M. Kirby Center.
