Michelle Johnson

An instructor at the Joan Harris Centre for nearly ten years, Michelle has studied ballet, pointe, tap and jazz for almost two decades. In 2001 Michelle, along with a group of other accomplished dancers, were featured in and performed Nevermore choreographed and directed by Elisabeth Harris before two sold out audiences as part of the nationally reviewed Performance Outlet, staged at the Broadway Dance Center, NYC. Over the years she has attended a wide variety of professional dance and convention seminars both locally and in the Philadelphia areas. She has also appeared in the Choreographers Showcase, the “NEPTA” Awards, in the theatrical productions of Valley Vaudeville, and the critically acclaimed West Side Story. Some of Michelle's more memorable roles have included one of of the Cygnets in 2003's Swan Lake and the role of "God" in The Garden. Michelle made her directorial debut in December 2003 where she directed, wrote and co-choreographed the childhood tale Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and in 2006 directed at dance set to musical Chicago. Michelle is a Cum Laude graduate of Bloomsburg University where she received a Bachelors Degree of Arts in Mass Communication/Journalism. She was assistant editor of the university magazine receiving the Outstanding Journalism Award upon graduation. Michelle was the special sections editor at the Hazleton Standard-Speaker where she created, wrote and designed the award-winning monthly publication, Senior Scene before she began designing catalogs for AllAboutDance.com. Ms. Johnson currently makes her career as an E-mail Marketing Specialist for Solid Cactus.
