THOMAS WILKINS -
Instructor
Thomas joined the staff of the Joan Harris Centre three years ago, after studying Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop at the studio for several years. He is familiar to most of the school, appearing in all of the school’s main stage productions since joining the Joan Harris Dancers. His first major role in a production was that of the sorcerer in the original ballet Corciev. Since then he has assayed the lead role in both La Fille Mal Gardee, The Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Puss in Boots, and most recently, Don Quixote. He began his dance training in Durham, North Carolina studying modern and jazz. After moving to New Jersey he joined the GMS Creative/Dance Company and then the MHS dance company in Montclair. As a cheerleading instructor he worked with the Pink Diamond Dance Team in Wilkes-Barre as their choreographer, the West Side Starz All Star Cheerleaders out of the Harris Conservatory for the Arts and is currently involved with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Miners cheerleaders. His choreography for cheerleading and drill teams has won numerous awards on a regional and national level. In addition to performing with the Joan Harris Dancers Thomas has previously worked with the PA Dance Vision Company in East Stroudsburg.
