Vanessa Velikis Pharm D Instructor
For over 20 years, Vanessa has been studying dance at the Joan Harris Centre. Throughout the years, she has performed in numerous lead and supporting roles in literally hundreds of dance and theatrical productions including portraying the lead role of "God" in the Biblical musical "Tales of Wonder". She danced in a series of sold-out shows on Broadway and West 57th Street in New York City. "The Performance Outlet" was hosted by the internationally known Broadway Dance Center. Vanessa choreographed various liturgical dances for St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was a member of the Pony Express, the dance team that performs at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers football games at the First Union Arena in Wilkes-Barre. She is a graduate of the Joan Harris Centre’s 4-year teacher training program and was an assistant teacher at College Misericordia's "Music in Motion" program. Miss Velikis has won scholarships for her academic and community service achievements and has been recognized by Dance Educators of America for her dance abilities. She has recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wilkes University’s Nesbitt School of Pharmacy with her Doctorate degree. She will be employed as a pharmacist in northeastern Pennsylvania.
